Frederick ("Fred") William Pitzke: We received notice from Fred's younger brother, Mark, that Fred passed away March 24, 2006 in San Antonio, Texas as a result of a stroke.
I remember Fred as a school photographer. He often had a camera around his neck, ready to capture the moment and chronicle the lives of his classmates. As a photographer, I'm sure he went to more school activities than most other students. Whenever I look at the yearbooks or the Brahma Tales, I will remember Fred as one of the guys who made it possible for me to look back across the decades and remember a special time--the days at MacArthur High.
Fred was the guy that was always around, but never the center of attention. I remember the day he stopped in front of me, on probably the only day I ever decided to do some reading in the library, and started putting his camera equipment down on the floor. I asked him what he was doing, he said never mind, just ignore him. He then took the blue picture that is between pages 231 & 234 in our yearbook. I'd always wondered what happened to ole Fred. God bless.
