Loyd Jr. was one of my closest friends in high school and college. We were neighbors and our Dad's were in business together, so we were together a lot. We lived out in Shady Oaks which was on Hwy 281 close to 1604, so we drove to school together a lot.  He was a nice guy, a little shy, but just a sweet, kind friend. We played football together and pound for pound he was the toughest guy on that team. He was a little small to play linebacker, but he was one of the hardest hitters on the team! I always remember looking at him during a game and the bridge of his nose would be bleeding where his helmet had hit it during a tackle. We lived next door to each other in the dorm at Texas Tech and had many wild escapdes as freshman finding our way in the world. I lost track of him as job, wife and kids became my first priority, but I would call to catch up every so often. I miss him already and wish him well in his final adventure!

Loyd was all the things Briscoe wrote. It's been a very long time since I've seen or talked to him. Hope his life's journey was a good one and we'll see him in the next one. Amen.

Yep, as Briscoe wrote, Lloyd was genuinely a wonderful kind, nice guy, and a friend!! What I remember most about Lloyd, is he always seemed to have a smile!  Just knowing Lloyd through high school, I can guarantee you that he carried that smile and his kindness throughout his life! My prayers are with you and your family! I'll see you someday on the other side!

Keep smiling, Rick :-)
