I can't come up with 25.... I must not be all that interesting!

1. The wonderful lake place in northern Wisconsin my grandfather bought in 1911 is still in the family--98 years and counting--and I go up twice a year and work my butt off to keep it in shape.

2. I want to live at the beach, but I can't decide which one.

3. I once paid off $50,000 in credit card debt.

4. In the '90s, I ran 3 marathons and completed a long-course (but not an Ironman) triathlon.

5. I think Eddie Izzard is the greatest comedian ever, and I'm newly obsessed with Adam Lambert.

6. In 1997, my father and one of my sisters died within an hour of each other, 1600 miles apart.

7. I wrote a screenplay a couple of years ago that won a competition in LA but never got produced.

8. I've also written two novels--never published. Dang!

9. I swear like a sailor.

10. My favorite movie is The Fugitive--I love the concept of the conflict of two goods.

11. I feel like I'm not living my real life, like I took the wrong turn somewhere.

12. I have two master's degrees--one in English and one in business.

13. I once saved my first husband from drowning.

14. I love London. You can walk out the door and never be bored. I've been there 6 times and still have never made it to the Tower--I always get distracted!

15. I have great hopes for President Obama--I'm proud of the American people for electing him.

16. I once interviewed Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jane Fonda.

17. I have a 19-year-old cat.

18. My father won a Silver Star in WW2. (I guess that's not really about me, but I'm proud of him.)

Mary:

Where in northern Wisconsin is your family's lake home?  My grandparents had a place on Deepwoods Lake about 15 miles north of Antigo, Wisconsin.  I spent my high school summers up there water skiing on that lake with Barb who lived next door and cruising the area on a Honda 305 Superhawk.  Fond memories.  Unfortunately the family sold it after my grandfather died about 20 years ago.  I drove by the place last year - it still belongs to the preacher from Eau Claire who bought it and, thank goodness, it still looks exactly the same.  I can understand why you would spend all those hours keeping your place in the family.  I wish we had.
