David Dorsey has let us know that Classmate Todd Johnson passed away in San Antonio, Texas on March 11, 2019 at the age of 66. Todd was at Mac for about two years, then moved away during the summer of '68. Here's a link to his obituary.
Many of you may not remember Todd, but honestly his obituary picture isn't a whole lot different from what he looked like back in the 60's. His Dad was transferred to Wichita after his Junior year.
We met in ’66 I believe, when he first moved back stateside after a stint in France with his family. I had moved to San Antonio from Sweden in ’63. So we both had some common ground and suffered from the same culture shock of moving from Europe to Texas. We hit it off right away, and we both hung around with Bill Ash – another military brat. Somehow we all managed to discover the counter-culture about the same time.
Todd was a wonderful, loyal and longtime friend. We never lost touch for long over the years, even though we haven’t lived within 1000 miles of each other for years. He was talented, loving, devoted, creative, and insightful. I will miss his friendship, his candor, his wry smile, his laugh, his dry sense of humor and his companionship.
