We have learned that classmate Cathy Braly passed away on 9/24/17 in New Braunfels, TX, just a few days short of her 66th birthday. No other information is available to us at this time. If any of you have additional information, please send it to us.
I have heard it said that you can tell a lot about a person by his friends. In Cathy's case, one of her best friends from Mac was Vickie Willard and they stayed in touch afterwards. That tells me a lot about both women--excellence seeks out excellence.
I remember walking over to Cathy’s house when I was in the first or second grade at Wilshire. Her mom would put the tailgate down on her station wagon and Cathy, her sister Carol and I would sit on the tailgate with our feet hanging down while she drove us to school. Can you imagine what would happen today if you tried that? I have very fond memories of our rides to school. Cathy, Carol and their mom were always very kind to me. God Bless you Cathy and may you Rest In Peace.
I met Cathy through our sweet Vickie Willard Patterson. She was always so kind and Vickie's family embraced her like everyone else they met. Giving, Sweet and Endearing, Cathy Braly. I am so glad I knew her. Many times, Vickie, Cathy and myself spent hours in Vickie's home, laughing and talking BOYS! I believe for sure she is at peace and in the better place.
I remember Cathy as a sweet and kind classmate with a beautiful smile. She was always willing to engage in conversation and made you feel special. Cathy will be missed by many, may she rest in peace.... Clark Sims
Cathy lived a couple of blocks over from my house. I remember talking to her on the front steps of her house. She was genuinely kind and caring. I also remember her beautiful smile! RIP, dear Cathy!
She had an unforgettable smile and was always so sweet and bubbly! Being a fellow short person, we sat next to each other a lot in group pictures and other group gatherings.
