I knew Susie Garton in the old days. We had a memorable time 1st Semester Sophmore year in Mr Harding's Remedial Math class. Susie and I and Mark Besch and Brett Cottham sat in the back corner of a sweltering classroom. The melted down disinterested slouching demeanor of the four of us failed to impress Mr Harding and he would yell out things like "wake up Mr Barnes! Ms Garton etc...what is the square root of 2 plus 2 or some such nonsense. Brett may have looked smart but the rest of looked liked extras for "Rebel Without a Cause"--especially when smoking cigs in the Mr M parking lot. Mac saw fit to stamp us with "Remedial" status but somehow Susie ended up a Medical Doctor, Mark Besch ended up counting money for the IRS and I became an ICBM Missile Launch Officer and for all I know Brett probably went to MIT. So I guess we could cut the mustard. Susie was a lifelong friend of my wife Debby and she doctored her kids back in the day. She served humanity her whole life and her loss will be deeply felt among those who loved her.
Wow hard to believe. Susie and I were on the tennis team together and hit it off immediately I remember being partners in doubles, not sure how we did, but very sure we had lots of fun!!! I'm a nurse and I was opening a home health agency and when she came back to SA I asked her to be our medical director which she agreed to . It was so nice reconnecting after all those years. Miss you Susie 🥰
