"FIESTA de los BRAHMAS":

Many thanks to Ken and Chester for their effort in setting up the above get together at "Mac" Allister Park.  Although the turnout was low we had a great time visiting and telling stories for hours in perfect weather without competing background noise or other distractions.  We even had our own little fiesta with the ladies cracking cascarones over the heads of us mostly bald guys.  Janice snuck in a little hooch from King William Fair in defiance of park rules.....just like the old days in High School.  So it was "another one for the road" for the Brahmas of yesteryear.  If I remember correctly the following classmates were present and accounted for: Ken Pearce, Chester Slimp, Mike Byrne, Martie Cardenas, Ted Wood, Steve Davis, Janice Kennedy, Butch & Kay Gerfers, Marcie Prince +1, Pat & Karen McClure and Debby Manning Barnes +1.  "The Road Goes on Forever and the Party Never Ends".

I believe a band from Austin called Fastball wrote a song about that very road.  They named the song "The Way".  Maybe they were headed towards that same Fiesta.

And now I know what cascarones are.  Our hair hats would have offered some protection.

Bren..."The Road Goes on Forever" is Robert Earl Keen's signature song....as a bit of trivia ...a few years back a condemed convict quoted the title as his last words just before they threw the switch at Hunstville.
